Is Lotion P50 1970 being discontinued in the USA?
Yes the original 1970 formula containing phenol will no longer be available once the existing inventory in the USA is sold out. Inventory is limited and selling quickly.

Is Lotion P50V 1970 being discontinued in the USA?
Yes the original 1970 formula containing phenol will no longer be available once the existing inventory in the USA is sold out. Inventory is limited and selling quickly.

Are the other Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 formulas being discontinued?
No! All the other P50 formulas that do not contain phenol will still be available for sale in the USA. Lotion P50 for normal to combination skin, Lotion P50V for normal to dry skin, Lotion P50W for sensitive and reactive skin and Lotion P50 PIGM 400 to treat hyperpigmentation and dark spots all do not contain the phenol ingredient and will be available to purchase.

Why are the original Lotion P50 1970 formulas being discontinued?
New FDA ingredient regulations now prohibit phenol to be included in cosmetic skincare products. Although the percentage in the formula was extremely low it is still not an acceptable ingredient in the USA.

What is phenol?
Phenol is a chemical antiseptic that has purifying properties. It is considered safe to use in very low percentages. The original Lotion P50 formulas contain less than 1% in their current formulas. Nonetheless the FDA no longer approves this ingredient in cosmetic skincare products.
